Almost all shoppers are familiar with the words "brand" and "product". What do they mean?
Definition
Under “ brand ” traditionally it is customary to understand the manufacturer of any product or service provider that has officially registered - in government or other specialized organizations - a certain trademark or trademark. But there are other interpretations of the term in question. For example, there is such an expression as "personal brand". As it can be considered a person who has received a certain fame due to talent in creativity, in business or in social activities.
The term in question is usually associated with "promoted" business, fame, prestige. But it would not be a mistake to call absolutely any company that has registered its trademark as a "brand". The brand may well be not promoted. The main thing is that its owner wants to position himself in a certain way. But the exception to this rule would be a "personal" brand. It is not formed just like that, it needs to be earned by its social role.
Product is any item sold in a store. It can also be in digital form: for example, an operating system distribution kit, an MP3 file, a paid mobile application will also be a commodity. In some cases, this term can also be applied to services - for example, if they are sold as a subscription or subscription.
Comparison
The main difference between a brand and a product is that the first term denotes the manufacturer or supplier of the thing, the second - the thing itself. Therefore, you cannot say “I bought a brand”, it has no price. Unless, of course, we are talking about buying an entire company - in this case, of course, yes, this expression is used. But most often they say “I bought a product of such and such a brand”. The expression "I like this brand" is also acceptable, and this will mean that a person will be likable, most likely, also those goods that are produced under the corresponding trademark.
Having found out what is the difference between a brand and a product, let's try to display its constituent criteria in the table.
