In this case, of course, Photoshop can be involved. What are the main tools for solving such problems does this graphic editor include? How to make copyright in Photoshop?

Visual protection of copyright images can be carried out:

  • by placing one copyright in the corner of the picture or photograph;
  • in the form of filling the image space with "fill" from copyrights (usually translucent).

Let us study the features of the application of these methods of protecting images in more detail.

Copyright in the corner of the picture

How to copyright a photo in Photoshop by placing it in the corner of the picture? This task is easy to solve.

The first step is to make the appropriate copyright. To do this, open Photoshop and create a new project. Preferably - on a transparent background (Transparent).

After that take the Text Tool and enter the copyright text. For example - TheDifference. You can then place a copyright icon next to it. The easiest way to do this is by drawing it using the Custom Shape Tool group of options. The corresponding tool is located on the left panel along with other similar ones - Rectangle Tool, Ellipse Tool, etc.

Next, you need to choose the optimal copyright size. The easiest way to do this is by temporarily linking the layers - the one that matches the text and placing the copyright icon on it. You need to select the appropriate layers with the mouse, then right-click on any of them and select Link Layers.

After that it will be possible to work with both graphic elements simultaneously. You can choose their optimal size using the Free Transform toolset. To do this, select the Rectangular Marquee Tool option, then right-click on any letter of the word in the copyright, then Free Transform. To increase or decrease an editable graphic element, it is most convenient to use the Scale option.

After choosing the optimal copyright size, press Enter. After that, it will be useful to make copies of the layers that you are working with now - a little later we will look at what this is for.

Select both layers, right-click on them and select Duplicate Layers. 2 copies of them will appear in the corresponding list. They require a special operation - "gluing". Select the copies of the original layers, right-click on any of them and select Merge Layers.

As a result, the copyright icon and the text will actually be combined into one picture. We will use it as an element of image protection.

Open the corresponding picture - as a separate project. After - copy the copyright from the glued layer to it using the Ctrl and C keys, as well as Ctrl and V. At the same time, a new layer will appear on the canvas on which the picture is located.

Place the copyright in the corner of the picture. It may not look very aesthetically pleasing in the original color. To adapt the copyright to the color scheme of the protected image, it should, for example, add a little transparency. Other effects, if desired. To do this, right-click on the layer corresponding to the copyright and select the Blending Options item.

In the window that opens, select the Blending Options: Custom tab, and then slightly reduce the values in the Opacity and Fill Opacity lines. You can also check the box next to Contour.

The resulting copyright will not be easy to erase from the picture. Now it is reliably protected.

There is another option for placing a copyright on a photo or picture - in the form of a "fill". Let's consider this feature in more detail.

Copyrighted as a "fill"

The end result of protecting an image might look something like this:

How to make copyright in Photoshop in this version? This task is solved in several stages.

First, go back to the original layers, which correspond to the copyright text and the icon - above we made copies of them. Now it is clear why we need them.

These layers must be linked. It is necessary to slightly reduce the copyright in size, as well as tilt it. To do this, select the Rectangular Marquee Tool, right-click on any letter, then, using the Scale and Rotate options, which are in the Free Transform group, reduce and skew the copyright.

Next, you will need to optimize the color and transparency of the corresponding graphic element. For the convenience of this operation, you can add another layer to the current project, fill it with white - using the Paint Bucket Tool - and place it below the others.

To simultaneously “calibrate” the copyright icon and the text, it is recommended to “glue” the corresponding layers - in a familiar way.

After that, right-click on the merged layer and select the Blending Options item, make the necessary color and transparency settings.

The next step is to add the copyright to the Photoshop “fills” database. To do this, select it with the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Immediately you need to turn off the white layer - by clicking on the eye icon next to its name: in this case, it should not be a "fill" element.

As a result, copyright will be barely visible - but that's what we need. Next, select the Edit menu item, then Define Pattern. Enter the name of the "fill" element - you can do anything.

After that, go to the image that needs to be protected with copyright, or open it again. It must have 2 layers. If the second one is missing, we create it by clicking on the corresponding icon.

Next, select the Edit menu item, then - Fill. In the Use line, specify Pattern.

After that, in the list that opens opposite the Custom Pattern line, select the last one in the queue. Click OK.

We get the desired result.
