How to choose roller skates.

This is okay for fitness skating, but can be let down if the roller is trying his hand at slalom or urban.

Skates for skates who are fond of slalom and urban styles

Slalom - fast driving with sharp turns, when at a good speed it is necessary to go around the chips placed on the track for skating.

Urban - high-speed driving along an unfamiliar urban route with jumps, sharp turns, overcoming obstacles.

Both in the first and in the second case, roller skates of a special design are needed. They must have a metal frame and rigid polyurethane wheels with a diameter of 86 to 100 mm. Polyurethane has a high slip coefficient and allows you to develop the maximum speed for these styles. PVC wheels are not suitable for speedy styles.

Rollers for slalom

It is advisable to choose shoes that are soft and high, resembling sneakers in shape. When trying on rollers, you need to make sure that the heel has a firm fixation and additional external protection, and the toe does not slide forward. An unstable foot can result in falls and serious injury.

What you need to know about inline skates for aggressive skating

Inline skates for aggressive skating

aggressive riding. They have to withstand bumps in the road, difficult somersaults, turns, braking and driving without rules at top speed. For aggressive skiing, it is recommended to choose hard boots in the form of a plastic frame with a soft, well-ventilated inner boot. They protect the ankles and ankles from possible injury and are strong enough for this.

The frame should be longer than usual, but not protrude beyond the toe and heel of the boot by more than 2 cm. Too long frame allows you to develop high speed, but limits the ability to perform complex figures typical of the aggressive style.

The most suitable material for the frame in this case is polyurethane. It has the PU lettering, which is applied to the inside of the frame, where the wheels are attached to it. For aggressive driving, only rigid polyurethane wheels with a diameter of 90 to 100 mm are suitable.

The mobility of the rollers and the speed that can be achieved on them also depend on the quality of the bearings - the main element of the rollers, which generally determines the ability to move on skates of this type.

What should be the quality of bearings for roller skates

The bearing class is indicated on the model by the technical abbreviation ABEC followed by numbers. Bearings are classified into one of five categories according to their accuracy class. The most accurate and fastest bearings are ABEC 7 or ABEC 9. They are used in very expensive professional skate models. For the aggressive style, it is recommended to purchase rollers with improved ABEC 5 bearings. This is the best choice for any high-quality skates, except for high-speed ones.

High-speed skiing requires at least ABEC 7 bearings, a long, elongated frame that protrudes about 5 cm forwards, and rigid wheels with a diameter of 100 mm.

Most adult inline skates have linear wheels, with the exception of figure skating quads where they are mounted in pairs. The design of the speed rollers has its own peculiarity: in it, the front and rear wheels can be lifted. This increases speed, although it significantly reduces stability. Without the experience of high-speed skiing, it is impractical to acquire such rollers.

Experienced athletes prefer models with additional braking function. It is also incorporated into the design of high-speed roller skates and is triggered when the roller extends the knee, thereby changing the position of the lower leg and ankle joint.

Sports equipment for roller skating

When choosing roller skates, it is necessary to weigh the pros and cons of the listed characteristics and choose an option that is safe for health, practical and reliable. Only in this case, riding will become a real pleasure and a useful workout that improves physical well-being.

It is necessary to purchase sports equipment for roller skating. It includes a protective helmet, knee pads and elbow pads, and for fast riding - a special tight-fitting suit made of elastic fabric that does not hinder movement and reduces resistance to oncoming air currents.

For beginner skaters, it is advisable to have gloves to protect the palms and shoulder pads to prevent injury to the shoulder joints.

Ideal if the equipment comes from a serious sports equipment manufacturer.

But the main thing, of course, is the skates. It must be borne in mind that high-quality models of European and American production cannot be cheap. But expensive models are not always of high quality. It can only be confirmed by special certificates, which must be presented to buyers in the retail network.
