How to choose a gas stove.

It acquired such an interesting name in honor of the once popular game thanks to the ability to create a large multifunctional kitchen system in combination with a table hood, deep fryer, double boiler and other useful modules. There is one- and two-burner.

Hob material: follow fashion or pay tribute to tradition?

The hob is often enameled or metal (stainless steel). The first option has been familiar to us since the last century: our grandmothers used such stoves. The enameled model has a low price, but in terms of operation it is not characterized from the best side, since it requires a certain amount of time and a certain skill in order to wash it after cooking. In addition, over time, the enamel wears out and does not look as attractive as new. And if you handle it inaccurately, then chips and scratches may appear altogether. However, removing spilled milk on time and without dropping anything on the work surface, you can easily keep the neat appearance of your stove for a long time.

Stainless steel, or, as it is popularly dubbed, stainless steel, will cost you an order of magnitude more, but will please you with its appearance and great strength. It is available in two versions: matte and polished. Please note that to clean such a stove, you should additionally acquire special detergents. And rubbing a steel surface to a shine is not easy: with any inept movement, fingerprints or sloppy stains remain on it.

Glass ceramics is a relatively new word in the material for gas hobs.

For greater comfort, the oven should be equipped with:

  • double (or better triple) glass, which will protect you, children and animals from burns after accidentally touching it;
  • a timer that will signal with a loud signal that the cooking time has ended;
  • trays that slide out automatically after opening the oven door;
  • a catalytic cleaning system, thanks to which, during cooking (and therefore heating), the fat is broken down, and then it is very simply washed from the walls of the oven, without drying out or sticking to them tightly.

Gas stove cover and grill

The cover can be glass or metal. The first one has a very aesthetic appearance, but requires more careful maintenance, since any stains on it are immediately visible. The metal cover does its job better and is more durable.

When choosing a gas stove, pay attention to its grill (if it is not a “gas under glass” surface). It can be solid or consist of several sections. The sectional unit is easier to clean and easy to clean when the stove needs to be cleaned. The material of the grill is also important. It is best if it is cast iron.
