The manufacturer Mitsubishi periodically submits both new products and already tested models for evaluation to motorists. SUVs of this brand Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Mitsubishi Montero Sport at first glance differ only in the name. One of the models is for the American market and the other for the European one. At the same time, many are worried about the question: do they have differences in technical characteristics.
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Is a Japanese SUV first released in 1996. Since then, the model has been updated several times.
Mitsubishi Montero Sport - one of the varieties of the previous model. This SUV is intended mainly for the Spanish-speaking market, since the word pajero among the local population has a slang meaning.
Both cars belong to the class of SUVs and successfully combine the functions of a truck, a car and a minibus. Outwardly, the models are difficult to distinguish, only by the name. They are roomy, have high cross-country ability and are quite easy to operate. However, some motorists note that the European Pajero is better in operation than the American Montero. What influences this?
The new generation Pajero SUV (in Russia since 2008) is equipped with a diesel type engine, the volume of which is 2.5 and 3.2, as well as a 3.0 gasoline engine. Montero cars have 3.0 and 3.4 gasoline engines and 2.4 diesel engines.
The interior of both models is roomy. Moreover, buyers are offered two configurations - for five and seven seats. Some minor changes have been made to the latest Pajero models. As a result, the roof was slightly raised, and the interior with the luggage compartment was sheathed with waterproof material.
The transmission of Montero Sport vehicles is easy to operate. They are equipped with a manual transmission. All-wheel drive in both models allows you to drive without problems even in hard-to-reach places. The latest SUVs under the Pajero Sport brand are equipped with an automatic transmission. This unique system automatically selects gears based on road conditions. Depending on the configuration of the Montero SUV, the alloy wheels are either 16 or 17 inches. Pajero cars have larger discs.
The luggage capacity of the Montero Sport reaches 1,350 liters, and with the seats folded down it reaches 2,600 liters. Mitsubishi Pajero also differs in size. However, more than 1,800 liters with the rear seats folded in it does not fit.
Thus, although the company has produced almost identical SUVs for sale in different countries, there are differences between them. Yet, very often both model names are used interchangeably, since they represent the same line of cars. Montero Sport appeared later than its predecessor.
