How to dye from black to red?.

Red hair color is bright, beautiful and draws attention to the face. It is very rich in shades: copper, cognac, mahogany, carrot, fiery golden, the color of fallen leaves... Almost any woman can choose a tone that suits her in terms of saturation and brightness. Repainting red contains a challenge, an attempt to radically change something. And it will be very disappointing if the result does not turn out as we would like. To avoid this, you need to know how to dye from black to red (light hair takes on a fiery shade quite easily).

Is it worth it to use folk recipes?

Unfortunately, natural remedies that act gently and do not spoil the hair will help little. Even henna will give dark hair only a reddish tint. And on dyed curls it is better not to use it at all - the final color can be very unexpected, from green to purple. To dye it red, or any lighter tone, you first need to get rid of the dark pigment. Proven home remedies - honey, lemon juice, kefir with cinnamon - will give only a slight clarification, which is clearly not enough for a cardinal color change. If the desire to become a redhead is irresistible, chemicals will come to the rescue. For naturally dark hair, you need a hydrogen peroxide lightener. And to get rid of the artificial pigment, you need a paint remover.

Peroxide will remove natural color

To lighten black undyed curls, you need 3% hydrogen peroxide. It is convenient to apply from a spray bottle.

  1. Clean, slightly damp hair should be combed well beforehand - tangled areas may lighten unevenly.
  2. The peroxide should then be thoroughly sprayed over the entire head, from root to tip. This is easier to do if you split the strands and process them separately.
  3. It takes about an hour to keep the product on the hair, depending on the saturation of the natural color and the desired shade. After about half an hour, on individual strands, you can check what happens. Too light shade is not needed, because you only need to lighten up to red.
  4. When it is achieved, the peroxide should be washed off and conditioner applied. It must be kept for half an hour, because the lightening damages the hair quite badly. After the product is washed off the hair.

When the head is dry, you need to evaluate the resulting color. If this shade of red is fine, you can leave it as it is. Otherwise, you need to dye your hair with permanent or semi-permanent paint in the chosen color - now it will fit right.

Washer - for dyed curls

But how to repaint from black to red if the hair has already been dyed? You can't do this without a wash. You need to pay attention - she will not take natural dyes, such as henna and basma. In other cases, you should wait until the head is dirty, and you can start. In addition to washing, you will also need deep cleaning shampoo and, of course, time. A single application will not work.

  1. There are usually two bottles of paint remover in a package. Mix them in equal proportions and apply to dry hair, avoiding skin if possible. Better to start from the back of the head.
  2. When the whole head has been processed, you should put on a plastic cap and sit like this for about twenty minutes.
  3. Then remove with plenty of hot water and deep cleansing shampoo. Rinsing your hair is required very thoroughly, until it squeaks.

To remove black paint, you need 4-5 such procedures. After them, the hair will acquire a yellowish color, and then it is already possible to paint in the chosen shade of red. But between the last wash and staining, at least 40 minutes must pass.

It must be remembered that lightening spoils the hair. If they are already damaged, it is probably worth delaying the color change and treating them first.
