Manicure is a hygienic procedure for the care of nails and hand skin. Today masters of nail service can offer their clients a lot of its varieties, but the most popular are still classic and European. On the one hand, these are two completely different procedures, but they also have common features. How to understand what is the difference between European manicure and classic manicure?
Definition
European, or unedged, is a type of manicure when the procedure is carried out without the use of scissors. In the course of work, only a nail file, orange sticks, a keratolytic and a European pencil are used.
Classic manicure is the most common and common hand care procedure. It is performed using metal tools - scissors, pusher and scissors. With their help, the cuticle is cleaned and trimmed. Also, files are needed in the work to shape the nail.
Comparison
The main difference between European manicure and classic manicure is the different approach to cuticle removal.
Preparing hands for the procedure
To prepare the cuticle for removal, it must be softened. With a classic manicure, hands are dipped into a bath of water (maceration), to which alkaline agents such as liquid soap are added. With European manicure, softening is carried out with a special composition - an acidic keratolytic, which is applied directly to the cuticle.
Cuticle removal
During the classic manicure procedure, the softened cuticle, previously pushed aside by the pusher, is cut off with nail scissors, and the sinuses and lateral ridges are cleaned with scissors. With European manicure, the prepared cuticle is pushed back with orange sticks, and then cleaned with a European pencil.
Safety
Working with sharp scissors can cause cuts and infection with non-sterile devices. Therefore, the safer is the European manicure, which is performed with disposable eco-friendly orange tree sticks.
Soreness
European manicure is a more gentle procedure that excludes the use of sharp stabbing instruments. That is why it is more suitable for people with thin skin, who have close blood vessels. In this case, you can exclude the possibility of injury and pain when cutting the cuticle.
Duration of the procedure
Classic manicure is performed much faster than European, and this is its undoubted plus. In the case when you urgently need to put your hands in order, you should choose this particular type.
Number of procedures
Classic manicure allows you to take care of your hands in one procedure, while the European one will require at least four. But with constant cutting with scissors, the cuticle accelerates its growth. Therefore, the procedures will have to be repeated more often. The need for frequent European manicure, on the contrary, disappears over time, since with regular exposure to a European pencil, the cuticle grows more slowly.
Cost
Speaking about the difference between European manicure and classic manicure, one should also note the cost of one session. Cut will be cheaper, since this is the most common hand care procedure and any nail service master can do it. European manicure is more expensive, it requires special skills, tools and means.
