Soil Health Card Scheme is a scheme launched by the Central Government of India in February 2015. According to this Scheme, the government provides a soil health card which will carry crop-wise guidance of fertilizers and nutrients needed for the single farms to help farmers to increase productivity through the proper use of inputs. The soil of farmers will test in different soil labs in India and after the test, the experts suggest which nutrients and fertilizers are useful for farmers soil. And they write the soil result in the soil health card. The government plans to issue the cards to 14 crore farmers.

  1. As per the date of July 2015, the government has covered 34 lakh farmers under the scheme.
  2. The state of Andhra Pradesh has published the most number of soil cards to its farmers.
  3. The states of Tamil Nadu and Punjab are way forward in collecting the soil samples.
